A pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Bernard’s Church, Thursday morning, Nov. 29th, 1945, when Romilda Kocherer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kocherer, and Donald Hassing, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hassing, both of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage by Rev. A.M. Muckerheide.

The bride was given in marriage by her fathere at an altar decorated with baskets of mixed flowers. She wore a gown of white satin brocaded lace and net. Her fingertip veil was held by a coronet of pearl beads. She also wore a locket, a gift of the groom.

Dolores Kocherer, sister of the bride, wore a blue satin and net gown and was maid of honor. Rosalie Niedzwicki, bridesmaid, wore a pink satin and net gown. Each carried a bouquet of pink carnations and white chrysanthemums. Both wore blushers to match their gowns.

The groom was attended by Leonard Haas, cousin of the bride, and Donald Dare was in uniform. The groom also was in uniform. The bride’s mother wore a navy blue crepe dress and a corsage of white chrysanthemums. The groom’s mother wore a dark green crepe and gold lace dress and a corsage of white chrysanthemums.

A wedding breakfast was served at the Auto Café for the bridal party and the bride and groom’s parents and families.

In the evening supper was served at the Stanley Auditorium for the bridal party, relatives and friends, also in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hassing, who celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. Two wedding cakes adorned the table. A dance followed the supper for all guests. The newlyweds and the groom’s parents were presented with a purse of money and many beautiful gifts.

The newlyweds will make their home in Chicago.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Lajewski, Mrs. Hoard Johnke, Mrs. O. Tanni, Dolores Kocherer, Rosalie Niedzwicki, all of Chicago; Mrs. Lenora Heine of Chippewa Falls.
