Surnames: Ruda, McFarlane ---------Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 01/10/1946 --------- McFarlane, Lucille (29 DEC 1945) Miss Lucille McFarlane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward McFarlane of Gilman, and Edward R. Ruda, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ruda of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage Saturday morning, Dec. 29, 1945 at 10 o’clock at the Church of God, Stanley, Wis., Rev. Nancy M. Suko performed the ceremony. The bride wore a gray suit with black accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. Her only jewelry was a locket, the groom’s gift. Miss Lucille Ruda, a niece of the groom, as bridesmaid, wore a green suit with black accessories and a corsage of white gardenias and chrysanthemums. The groom wore a blue suit with a gardenia boutonniere and the best man, Lloyd McFarlane, a brother of the bride, wore a brown suit with a white carnation boutonniere. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner and reception were held at the home of the bride’s parents. The home and tables were decorated in green and white and a lovely two tier wedding cake centered the bride’s table. A wedding dance was given in the Thorp Legion Hall in the evening. The bride has been employed in Anderson, Indiana since her graduation from the Stanley High School. The groom, also a graduate of the Stanley high School, made his home at the Richter home while attending school and was employed in Long’s Store. He was recently discharge from the Army, having served as a corporal at Lowry Fields, Denver, Colo., for seven months. The young couple left on Monday for Chicago, where the groom is employed and where they will make their home, and the groom will resume his former employment. Out of town guests attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur McFarlane, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ehrenberg, Bloomer; Pfc. And Mrs. Albert McFarlane, Camp Jos. T. Robinson, Ark. |
