Thursday, 8 June 1944 ---Bandelow, Mrs. Velma (Marriage – 1 June 1944) The marriage of Mrs. Velma Bandelow, Neillsville, daughter of Mrs. Theodore Kalsow, Globe, and Theodore Mech of Greenwood took place at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 1, at the home of the bride on South Clay Street, Neillsville. Rev. Parisius of Stanley, a retired Lutheran minister nd the first minister of Globe Lutheran Church, performed the double ring ceremony. Thirty-two guests were in attendance. The house was beautifully decorated with cut flowers. The bride wore a tailored suit with grey pin stripes, and carried a bouquet of roses. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Elaine Mech, daughter-in-law of the groom, wore a yellow suit, and also carried roses. The groom was attended by his son, Vernon Mech. Both of the attendants reside in Greenwood. Music for the service consisted of hymns of the church, and a solo, “I Love You Truly,” sung by Mrs. M. E. Bennett. Following the ceremony a reception was held at Wagner’s party room for thirty-two guests, the tables being decorated with roses and iris. Mr. and Mrs. Mech left on Friday for notheran Wisconsin for a week’s honeymoon, and plan to visit the groom’s mother at Green Bay. For her going away the bride wore a red suit with grey accessories. On their return to Neillsville they will reside in the bride’s home at 22? South Clay Street. The bride has spent her entire life in and near Neillsville. The groom is owner and manager of a cheese factory at Greenwood. Out of town guests who were here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mech of Florida, and the Rev. and Mrs. Parisius of Stanley.
