In an ivory satin wedding gown Miss Constance H. Sapiega, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Sapiega, 518 Summit St., Rockford, Ill., on March 3 became the bride of Kenneth J. Peterson, boatswain’s mate 2/c of the U.S. navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Peterson, Barnum, Minn.

The Rev. R. P. Gordon celebrated the nuptial mass at 6 a.m. in St. James pro-cathedral before an altar decorated with lighted tapers and greens. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Preceding the ceremony Miss Mayme Burke, nuptial organist, played selections by Mendelssohn and the Lohengrin wedding march.

The bridal gown was styled with a gathered bodice, pointed sleeves and a full net skirt, appliquéd with satin flowers, which fell into a train. The finger tip veil fell from a stiff lace crown garnished with tiny white flowers. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies.

Lois King was bridesmaid. Allen W. Sapiega, seaman 1/c, home on leave from the naval air station at Norman, Okla., was best man. Allen is the bride’s brother.

A dinner in the Colonial room of the Nelson hotel was served at 6 p.m. and a reception followed at 8 o’clock.

On Tuesday, March 6, the couple left on a honeymoon trip to New York City, from where the bridegroom will return to active duty aboard a destroyer escort.

Mrs. Peterson will make her home with her parents when her husband returns to his ship. She was graduated from Neillsville high school, and was formerly employed at the Chas. V. Weisse company of Rockford, Ill.

Kenneth entered the service on October 6, 1941. He served two years aboard a troop transport in the north Pacific, where he participated in several battles. During the last two years he has been on a destroyer escort in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.

The Sapiegas formerly lived in Clark county.
