Ruth **Dankemeyer was married to Robert Berg Saturday evening at Marshfield. The marriage is a romance of the town of Fremont, running back into childhood. Ruth and Robert lived only five miles apart; were members of the same 4-H club, were interested in the projects, especially forestry. Their marriage to them and to hose interested in them as logical and natural as any marriage could be.

Ruth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Dankemeyer, now of Marshfield but formerly of Fremont, north of Chili. Robert is the son of Mrs. Harriet Berg and the late Arthur O. Berg. The Bergs resided, until Mr. Berg’s death, on a farm west Fremont. Ruth is a graduate of Marshfield High School; Robert of Granton High, with a year in addition in the University of Wisconsin.

The young people will reside in the Berg home at Schofield, about four and one-half miles from Wausau. Of this home Robert’s mother, well known in eastern Clark County, is the matron. There she was an eye on 13 acres, while Robert is at work as a pattern maker with the D. J. Murray Manufacturing Co., a concern now working mainly on war supplies. Ruth will continue as a secretary with a law firm in Wausau. The fourth member of the household is Marise Berg, who is now in nurse’s training at St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau, with brief intervals spent under the home roof.

The Berg place outside Wausau consists of 13 acres, of which about an acre and a half is in nursery. This has been built up by Robert during his three years at Wausau. It now consists of about 5,000 trees. It is a substantial avocation for Robert, as it will be for his tree loving wife.

Robert and Ruth were married at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Marshfield, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 2. The wedding was attended by about 150 friends and relatives. It was followed by a reception and dinner in the church parlors, attended by 65 of the relatives and close friends.

The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. William Egbert of New Baltimore, Mich., uncle of the bride. He and Mrs. Egbert had come especially for the wedding. The short wedding sermon was preached by the Rev. G Reiss, pastor of the Marshfield Church. The music was furnished by the church organist and by members of the choir, to which Ruth had formerly belonged.

The wedding was colorful, with beautiful falls flowers around the altar, in the parlors and on the tables. The garments were in harmonizing colors. Ruth wore white, with a two-thirds length veil. Her bridesmaids were Marise Berg, sister of the bride, and Marie Fernbach of Marshfield, intimate friend of the bride, wearing, respectively, pink and blue. The matron of honor, Natalie Dankemeyer, sister of the bride, wore orchid. Robert Berg was in brown, while his best man, Gerald Dankemeyer of Neillsville, was in blue. The ushers were Robert Lee and Norman Hales, the latter now of Mendota, Ill., ?lad respectively in brown and blue.

The wedding was attended by many relatives and friends of eastern Clark County; also by Mrs. Vernon Berg, Roberts aunt, who, with her children, Patsy and Bill, had extended for the wedding their absence from their home at Huntington Park, Cal.

The young people spent their honeymoon at a lake in northern Wisconsin. Mrs. Harriet Berg spent a few days after the wedding among her relatives and old friends in Clark County.
