Obit: Ignace, Mark (1866 – 1945)
Surname: Ignace, Biegler, Jezioro, Towarnichi, Koziol, Wieclawski ----Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 03/08/1945 ----Ignace, Mark (27 Mar. 1866 – 4 Mar. 1945) Mark Ignace, aged 79 years, a farmer of the town of Levis, died at his farm home Sunday night, March 4. He died in his sleep, death being attributed to old age. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. today (Thursday), March 8, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, services being conducted by the Rev. J. A. Biegler, pastor of St. Mary’s church. Burial took place in Chicago. A rosary service was held Wednesday evening at the Schiller-Terhune funeral home, where the body was lying in state. Mr. Ignace was born in Poland on March 27, 1866. He grew to manhood there, and at the age of 24 came to America, settling in Chicago. He was married in Chicago September, 1897, to Katherine Jezioro. In 1906 they came to Clark county and purchased a farm in the town of Levis, where they have since resided. Mr. Ignace was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic church. He is survived by his wife, eight children and four grandchildren. One son, Andrew, is serving with the U.S. navy, and is now in Alaska. Another son, Joseph, has seen long service with the army overseas, and has recently been honorably discharged. He resides in Chicago. The other children are: Mrs. Anne Towarnichi, Mrs. Alice Koziol, Mrs. Charlotte Wieclawski, and Frank Ignace, all of Chicago; Leona and Tom Ignace, who reside on the home farm. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister, Joe Ignace of Gary, Ind., Stanley Ignace of Fullerton, Nebr., and Mrs. Katherine Jezioro of Chicago. Mrs. Towarnichi, Mrs. Koziol, Joseph and Frank were here for the funeral services and accompanied their mother to Chicago.
