--------- Micke, Marie (11 SEP 1946)

On Sept. 11, 1946, at the St. Ann’s Church in Stanley, a pretty double ring ceremony was performed by Father Pitzenberger, when Miss Marie Micke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Micke, became the pretty bride of Frank Ciokiewicz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ciokiewicz.

Miss Micke was attired in a white jersey with gold sequent belting gown. The plain long net veil was neatly held in place with an apple blossom crown. She wore full length net gloves which matched her veil. Her bouquet was of American beauty roses and white gladiolas tied with a satin ribbon bow. Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls.

Marie chose as her bridesmaids, Eleanore and Alice Rogalski. The girls wore printed silk rayon blouses with file-taffeta shirt gowns. Their headpieces were shape sequent, butterfly wings made of net, and carried bouquets of American beauty roses and white carnations also tied with satin ribbon bow.

The groom’s attendants were Leonard and Erwin Klick. They wore suits with carnation boutonnieres. Leonard served as best man.

The groom’s mother wore a blue dress and a corsage of white and pink carnations. The bride’s mother wore a black printed dress. Her corsage was the same as the groom’s mother.

Reception was held at the bride’s parents home during the day. A delicious dinner and supper were served to about a hundred guests. A dance was held at the American Legion Hall in the evening.

The couple will reside on the groom’s farm in Thorp.

Out of town relatives were: Mr. and Mrs. Barney Micke, Stanley; Mrs. And Mrs. Clarence Micke, Gilman; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Micke, Longwood; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Ciokiewicz, and daughter, Owen; Mr. John Ciokiewicz, Neillsville; Mrs. Margaret Bohman, Green Bay and Miss Marion Bohman, Milwaukee.
