----- Johnson, Delmond W. (14 MAR 1921 – 27 MAY 2008)

Delmond W. Johnson, 87, Greenwood, died on Thursday, May 27, 2008, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 27, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Terri Blomberg officiated. Burial followed in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were his granddaughters.

Delmond Warren Johnson was born on March 14, 1921, in Greenwood, to John and Annie E. (nee Johnson) Johnson. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at Christopherson School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1939. He farmed on the family farm until his marriage to Amber Nolan on June 2, 1945, at Our Savior’s Lutheran parsonage. He took over the family farm and drove school bus for the Greenwood School District for 20 years. He also drove for ADS for several years. He retired in 1990 and continued to help his son, Dean, on the family farm for several more years. He resided at home until entering the Health Care Center in December 2007. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed going to auctions and horse sales, deer hunting with his sons and grandsons, and four wheeling. He was a Packer and Brewer fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and was proud of them.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Amber, Greenwood; his children, Mike (Shirley) Johnson, Greenwood, Karen (Duane) Milz, Medford, and Dean (Suzanne) Johnson, Eau Claire; daughter-in-law, Kyle Johnson, Greenwood; 15 grandchildren, Eric Johnson (special friend Kathy Rachu), Amy (Joshua) Vollrath, Trent (Gina) Johnson, Tinker (Penny) Johnson, Luke (Lara) Johnson, Kallie Johnson, Casey Johnson, Kris (Rick) Fitzl, Julie (Eric) Landini, Jeff Milz, Brian Milz, Nat Johnson, Gretchen (D.J.) Anding, Jesse Johnson and Lacy Johnson; 19 great-grandchildren; his special nephew, Delton (Wilma) Jolivette; other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, John E. Johnson, on Oct. 1, 1997; one brother, Elias; and two sisters, Emily Johnson and Ella Jolivette.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
