At the home of her parents at 1950 Koster St., Madison, on May 19th, 1945, at 4 p.m., Miss Dorothy A. Miller was married to Herbert T. Schlinkert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schlinkert of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.). The Rev. Morris Wee of Bethel Lutheran Church performed the double ring ceremony.

The “Bridal Chorus” from Lohengrin was played by Joan Miller, sister of the bride. Mrs. Edward Westbury, a friend of the bride’s sang “Because” and “One Alone.”

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white crepe with a full net skirt. The long sleeved blouse had a low sweetheart line and was trimmed with seed pearls and appliquéd floral designs from the lace of her mother’s wedding gown. The fingertip veil whose cap was held in place by two roses, was trimmed with bands of sheer embroidery of floral pattern. She carried a bouquet of bride’s roses, carnations and sweet peas.

Her only attendant was Miss Bernadine Schlinkert of Milwaukee, sister of the groom. Her formal gown was a powder blue sheer, trimmed with wide bands of eyelet embroidery. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.

Donald McIntire of Madison, a classmate of the bride and groom, was best man.

Mrs. Miller’s gown was a floral pattern white jersey and Mrs. Schlinkert wore a navy blue sheer. Both mothers wore corsages of white roses.

The couple will be at home at 205 N. Mills St., and will resume their educations together. The bride is a graduate of Central High School of Madison. The groom was a graduate of Owen High School and attended Eau Claire State Teachers College prior to his enlistment in the army.

He received a medical discharge from the United States Army Signal Crops a year and one half ago. The bride is a sophomore and the groom a junior in the school of chemical enginerring at the University of Wisconsin.

A reception and supper followed the ceremony. Assistants were Mrs. Donald McIntire, Jean and Mary Miller and Barbara Keating.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schlinkert of Neillsville, Mrs. Anna Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Miller, Mrs. A.J. Keating and daughter Barbara of Marengo, Ill.
