--------- Lehnen, Lillian (14 JUL 1945)

Garden flowers brightened the altars of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen Saturday morning for the wedding of Miss Lillian Lehnen, this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nic Lehnen, Owen, and Albert Platta, Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anna Platta, Hatley. The Rev. Francis Brockman assisted by the Rev. Raymond Schultz and Father Emil O.M. Cap, celebrated the solemn high mass. Mrs. W.K. Doonan presided at the organ and Betty Devine was the soloist.

The bride’s gown of lustrous white satin was styled with a long train and a fitted bodice, with Grecian style sleeves. Her veil of imported illusion fell in a long train from a pearl studded coronet. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and baby breath, centered with an orchid. The pearls she wore were a gift of the bridegroom.

Miss Alice Mauel attending as maid of honor, was gowned in yellow ninon over taffeta and completed her attire with a yellow bonnet and long gloves to match. Her bouquet was composed of yellow daisies, carnations and baby breath. The bridesmaids, Miss Irene Mauel and Miss Agnes Lehnen, sister of the bride, were identically attired in pink and blue. They wore matching bonnets and long gloves and carried pink carnations and baby breath.

The bride’s mother was attired in a dress of white printed sheer with a matching corsage of summer flowers. Mrs. Platta, mother of the groom, wore a gray printed dress with a corsage to match.

Pfc. E.J. Lehnen, brother of the bride, and Corp. E. Davey attended the bridegroom.

A 1 p.m. dinner for 70 guests was served at the Woodland Hotel. A three-tiered wedding cake and candles and cut flowers in crystal holders decorated the table.

Mr. Platta and his bride will spend their honeymoon in Chicago. After July 22 they will be at home to friends in Milwaukee, at 3441 N. Fifty-fourth St. The bride, who is a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing has been office nurse for Dr. Frenzel at Wausau. She is also a graduate of the Owen High School.
