Miss Ruth Ilene Awe, daughter of Mrs. Gunda Awe Sorenson of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Pvt. Charles Pribbernow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Pribbernow of Hixon (Clark Co.). They were united in marriage at the United Lutheran Parsonage of Greenwood by Rev. A. Norson, Saturday, Aug. 11, 1945.

The couple was attended by Miss Bernice Laube of Green Grove and Seaman Arnold C. Gosse of Colby, now stationed at Great Lakes, Ill. The bride and maid of honor were attired in powder blue suits with white accessories.

When the newlyweds and attendants returned to the bride’s home after the ceremony they were surprised to find the bride’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fredric Merlin Awe, who had just arrived on a honeymoon trip from Waukegan, Ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Fredric Merlin Awe were married in Waukegan July 8 by Rev. Bartz of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Awe, is the former Marian Nelson of Oakland, Nebraska and has been residing in Waukegan and surrounding territory for the past six years. The couple was attended by Miss Dorothy Larson of Sioux City, Iowa, and Emil Horner of Green Grove.

On Sunday, Aug. 12, Mrs. Gunda Awe Sorenson served a light supper in honor of the two couples. Nearly 60 relatives were present.

Pvt. And Mrs. Charles Pribbernow left Monday noon for Waukegan and Villa, Ill. to visit the bride’s two sister, Mrs. Phillip Kettner and Mrs. Glenn Peaslee. Wednesday noon they left for Fort Ord, Calif., where Pvt. Pribbernow will be stationed for 6 months of Amphibious Training.

Mr. and Mrs. Fredric Merlin Awe are visiting relatives and friends and will return to Waukegan Monday, Aug. 20.
