THELMA DORTHEA MASHIN

Thelma Mashin, 93, Neillsville, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Thelma Dorthea Mashin was born Sept. 12, 1914, in the township of Grant, Clark County, the daughter of Warren and Helen (Luck) Hake. She graduated from Neillsville High School and then attended Beautician School in Eau Claire. She was united in marriage to Albert Mashin Sept. 16, 1936, in Neillsville. They farmed for one year north of Neillsville. Then they moved to Neillsville and operated a bottled milk business for many years, delivering to businesses and door-to-door. When that business sold, Thelma worked at the Farmer’s Store for many years. In their later years, after retiring they spent their winter months in Naples, FL, where Albert built a home. They had many card-playing friends in Neillsville and Naples.

Thelma is survived by two children, Joyce (Terry) Becker, Neillsville, and DeWayne (Jane) Mashin, Tomah; six grand-children, Cindy (Jim) Ehlers, Neillsville, Tammy Becker, Palm Springs, CA, Ronny (Lois) Mashin, Mount Calvary, Randy (Kathy) Mashin, Frankfort, IL, Richell (Josh) Kufahl, Tomah, and Rhea (Leon) Keeton, Tomah; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Warren Hake; a sister, Viola MacWilliams; a brother, Dale Hake; and her husband, Albert.

A Memorial Service for Thelma will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor James Mohr will officiate. Music will be provided by Eileen Zank, organist. Inurnment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Thelma’s family with funeral arrangements.
