----Elmendorf, Bonita Eileen (Marriage – 11 Dec. 1944)

On Monday, December 11 at 7:30 in the evening the altar of the University Lutheran Church of Seattle, Wash., was beautifully decorated with lighted tapers and cut flowers for the impressive wedding ceremony of Bonita Eileen Elmendorf of Seattle, formerly of Neillsville, and Robert Dale Patrick of the U. S. Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Patrick of Madrid, Ia. The Rev. L. H. Steinhoff performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride, who given in marriage by her father was attired in a lovely gown of white satin with insets os silk voile. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a crown of seed pearls and lace. She carried her prayer book, which was covered with a large orchid and tiny white flowers and trailers of white satin bows.

Miss Dorothy Tracy of Great Lakes, close friend of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. Her gown was of blue chiffon with insets of silk voile. She carried a bouquet of Chrysanthemums.

Little Doreen Elmendorf, sister of the bride, was flower girl. She also was dressed in blue and carried a large basket of mixed flowers.

The groom was attended by his friend, Randall Garner of Louisiana, also the U. S. Navy. Both the groom and his best man wore their navy uniforms.

The bride’s mother witnessed the ceremony in black silk voile dress with a corsage of pink carnations.

During the ceremony WAVE Dorothy Lowery of Chicago sang “I Love You Truly” and “Oh Perfect Loves.”

The ushers were WAVES Marcia Palermarsh of Milwaukee, and Hazel Nordquist of the Bronx, N. Y.

A reception was held in the parlors of the church immediately following the ceremony for 35 friends and relatives. A beautiful three tiered wedding cake centered the bride’s table. The decorations were blue and white.

WAVES Judy Allworth of St. Paul, Minn., and Gene Black of Salk Lake City, Utah, poured at the buffet supper which was served.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Patrick stationed at the U. S. Naval hospital in Seattle. Mr. Patrick is a member of the staff, serving as clerical technician, and Mrs. Patrick does civil service work in the clinical records office.
