Local Happenings

The greatest event in a hen’s life is merely an egg and a cackle.

The month of August opened up a trifle cooler that what July gave us.

Attorney John E. Hancock departed for his home in Casey, Ill., Tuesday night.

Nearly all farmers are through haying and are now tackling the barley and rye.

Miss Emma Reyer left for Chicago Saturday morning, to visit her brother Will.

There will be a dance in the West Town Hall, Friday, Aug. 11th. Music by Adrain Trio.

The Mission Festival at the Zion Lutheran church, last Sunday, was largely attended.

Mrs. M. Bredemeyer left for Appleton, Monday night, to attend the funeral of an uncle.

Allie Gutenberger left Wednesday for Manitowoc and Sheboygan, where he will visit with relatives.

Miss Florence Miller of Chilton, arrived here, Tuesday, to visit at the home of her sister, Mrs. Chas. Kesler.

G. C. Kersten left for Chicago, Wednesday morning, to do shopping for the Kraus and Kersten store.

Mrs. H. Shambaugh of Des Moines, Iowa, visited here three days, last week with Mrs. H. H. Christofferson.

A large gathering of people from here and neighboring towns attended the picnic and ball game at the Park, last Sunday.

Misses Anna Tesmer and Helena Tesmer left Monday for Milwaukee, to visit a week or two their aunt, Mrs. Wm. Risch.

Miss Florence Tesmer went to Appleton, Monday, to visit a few weeks with her grandpa and grandma, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hecker.

C. Lord of Lafayette, Ind., was in the city, Monday, looking over property interests, and visiting friends made on previous trips.

Gottlieb Tesmer and son are laying 150 feet of cement sidewalk, 6 feet wide, along the east side of Zillmann Bros.’ hardware property.
