Local Happenings

Miss Lucille Lukowicz was a Marshfield visitor last Saturday.

Rev. and Mrs. A. Peper spent Sunday with friends at Athens and Edgar.

Mrs. Chas. F. Lindner spent Tuesday afternoon with friends at Abbotsford.

Mrs. Carrie Kautsky spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Sexton, at Marshfield.

Mrs. A. R. Margraff came up from New London and spent Sunday with her husband.

Paul Pokallus came down from Medford last Sunday and spent the day with his folks.

Miss Agnes Misslich went to Chippewa Falls, Tuesday evening, to visit with friends for several days.

There is only one business college in Wisconsin that has a gymnasium and shower bath in connection and that is Bushey’s of Appleton.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Follett of Marshfield, came up Sunday and spent the day at the H. E. Crosby home.

Fred B. Dix went to Neenah the latter part of last week and visited several days with his folks there.

Ernest Schulte went to Oshkosh, Monday, where he will take up a course at the normal school in that city.

Miss Mabel Neumeister went to Stevens Point Tuesday morning to resume a course of study at the normal.

Chris. Theilig went to Sheboygan and Cleveland Saturday morning, and will spend a couple of weeks with relatives.

Mrs. Ray Marsh and two children went to Neenah Friday, and spent the week-end with her brother, Steve Davis, and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Oelke of Marshfield, visited last Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. E. Tesmer. Mrs. Tesmer is the lady’s aunt.

Mayor and Mrs. J. J. Grimes, who had been visiting with relatives and friends in Chicago and Milwaukee for a week, returned home last Sunday.

Mrs. M. J. Hipkes, who had been visiting with her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Staffney, in Milwaukee for several weeks, returned home last week Thursday.

Graduates from Bushey’s Business College of Appleton are competent to hold positions. That is why the Bushey Bros. find no difficulty in placing their graduates.

Mrs. Frank Schaller and sons, Ewald, Frank Jr., and Lawrence, and Mrs. Hulda Kyle autoed to Wausau and back last Monday for a little pleasure trip. Ewald drove the car.

Mrs. Matt Fisher and son Edwin, and the Misses Mary Walner and Mildred Russel, and John Walner autoed up from Bancroft, Sunday, and spent the day with the J. P. Harvey family.

Mr. and Mrs. N. J. White and Earl autoed over from Wausau Sunday and spent the day with a few of their many friends. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Krepsky and Mrs. S. J. Shafer.

Corporal Tracey Greene of Co. K, 6th Wis. Inf., was granted a seventy-two hour leave of absence so he came up from Camp Douglas Saturday and blowed it in with his father and friends here at home.

Paul Kobs, Soo Line brakeman, who had been home for the past two weeks because he got into some poison ivy and had to lay off, returned to Waukesha Saturday and reported for work Monday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Schuh of Hazel Green, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schuh of Platteville, arrived Saturday and will spend a couple of weeks with the boys’ folks here. The Schuh brothers are in the cheese making game and say that things have been fine with them so far.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Freeman of Fond du Lac, were guests at the J. E. Lyons and Anton Umhoefer homes several days last week, having come up with their auto. Sunday Mr. Freeman and wife and Anton and wife took Anton’s Peerless and drove to Eau Claire where they spent the day with friends.
