Nuptial rites were solemnized in the Methodist church Saturday evening at a 7 o’clock candlelight ceremony for Miss Luella C. Young, Loyal, and William E. Butterbrodt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Butterbrodt of Greenwood. The Rev. Orlando Jewell, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Miss LaVonne Smith presided at the piano.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Young, approached the altar on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. She was lovely in a princess styled gown of white satin, fashioned with a row of tiny buttons down the back and a sweetheart neckline. Full puffed sleeves came to points over the hands. Her long, lace edged veil of tulle was held in place by a wreath of orange blossom and seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of carnations and sweet peas and wore a double strand of pearls.

Miss Hazel Young, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Her floor-length gown of aqua chiffon was fashioned with lace inserts and short puffed sleeves. She wore a matching chapel veil in halo effect.

The bridesmaid was the bride’s youngest sister, Miss Norma Young. She wore pink sheer chiffon, fashioned with sweetheart neckline. She also wore a matching chapel veil. Both attendants wore gold lockets and carried colonial bouquets similar to the bride’s.

Attending the groom were Robert Fischer, Greenwood, as best man, and Allison Butterbrodt, brother of the groom. The men wore conventional dark suits and white carnation Boutonnieres.

Darleen Degenhardt, Loyal, acted as flower girl and was gowned in a floor length sheer blue dress. The ring bearer, dressed all in white, was Harvey Degenhardt. He carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

A reception and 8 o’clock dinner was served to immediate friends and relatives at the home of the bride’s parents. The dining room was attractively decorated in pink, aqua and white. A miniature bride and groom decorated the center piece, a tiered wedding cake baked by the bride’s sister, Mrs. Edgar Verhalen. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Country Ballroom.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal high school, class of 1936. She has been employed in Loyal and in defense work in Chicago. The groom attended the Greenwood high school and has been engaged in farming.

Mr. Butterbrodt has prepared a home for his bride on his farm west of Loyal. Where they will be at home to friends after May 1.

Among the guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Ira Clouse and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clouse (grandparents of the bride), the Rev. and Mrs. O. Jewell of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Butterbrodt and family of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boldt of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. John Brown Jr. of Fall Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Clouse and family of Auburndale, Mr. and Mrs. James Young of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clouse and Marlin, Miss Darleen Degenhardt, Harvey Degenhardt, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Verhalen and son, Joe Wendel, Mrs. Clara Thurber and Miss Nancy Thurber, all of Loyal.
