Miss Betty Ann Passehl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Passehl of Athens, Route 2, and Eugene Wehrman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wehrman of Colby, Route 1, were united in marriage in a solemn high mass last week Wednesday morning in St. John’s Catholic church at Wuerzburg with Rev. Jacob Sherfinski officiating. George Passehl, a student at St. Francis Seminary, also took part. A nephew of the bride, Edward Gauthier, Jr., served at the mass.

Alex Ellenbecker as soloist and organist provided music for the mass, including “Ave Maria” and “At Thy Feet.”

Tiered lace trimmed the sides of the lace and satin dress chosen by the bride for the occasion, and a standing collar finished off the bodice. Her bouquet was composed of red roses.

Identical dresses in blue lace with tiered skirts of net were worn by her attendants, who carried identical bouquets of blue and white daisies. Mrs. Eugene Stark of Madison appeared as her sister’s matron of honor, while the corps of bridal aides consisted of Misses Geraldine Reed and Betty Nowack, Miss Phyllis Bohman, cousin of the bridegroom, and Mary Gauthier, the bride’s niece from Athens who was flower girl. She too carried blue and white daisies and wore a dress patterned after the bridal gown.

Jerry Passehl, a nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

Attending Mr. Wehrman as best man was the bride’s brother, Anthony Passehl. Two other brothers, Urban and Charles Passehl, and a brother-in-law, Eugene Stark, were the groomsmen. Edward Gauthier, Sr., ushered.

For the day’s festivities, which included a breakfast and supper at the church hall, and a reception from 1:30 to 4:30 P.M. in the Trianon Ballroom, the bride’s mother wore a pink dress with white and pink accessories, and a corsage of pink rosebuds and white carnations.

Attending the wedding were out-of-town guests from Fond du Lac, Athens, Edgar, Wausau, Stratford and Milwaukee.

The newlyweds plan to make their home at Stratford. Mr. Wehrman is employed at HarMac Trailor Homes in Stratford, and his bride is a Roddis Plywood Corp. employee. They are graduates of their respective hometown high schools.
