---Gorsegner, Helen E. (Marriage - 19 February 1946)

THORP – A very beautiful wedding took place Tuesday, February 19, 1946, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Reseburg when Miss Helen E. Gorsegner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Gorsegner of Thorp, became the bride of Thomas E. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Davis of Hannibal. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler of Dorchester performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of white satin with a jewel neckline and long sleeves which came to a point over the wrist and full net skirt ending in a rain. Her fingertip veil with a wide edging of lace fell from a pearl-beaded tiara. She wore a double strand necklace of pearls, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of white roses, white carnations and sweet peas.

Miss Reina Gorsegner, sister of the bride, and Miss Eileen Henke were bridesmaids.

The groom and his attendants, Harold and Lawrence Christopher, nephew of the groom, wore dark blue suits with white carnation boutonnieres.

During the ceremony Mrs. Donald Marshall sang “Oh Promise Me” and “I Love You Truly,” accompanied by Miss Gladys Bobb at the organ.

The bride graduated from Thorp High School in 1943 and since then has been employed at the Thorp Finance Corporation.

The groom returned from the E. T. O. recently after 30 months of service with the army engineers. He is now employed by Babbitt Brothers.

A wedding dinner was served at 7 o’clock to the bridal couples and to the parents at the home (article cut off).
