Frank John Haack, 67, formerly of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), died on May 13, 1947, at 9:15 in the morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, of a complication of ailments. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon of St. John’s Lutheran Church, preceded by brief services at the Georgas Funeral Home, where the body had lain in state since Wednesday morning. The Rev. T. P. Bradtke of Marshfield officiated. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alvin Jacob, Paul Jacob, Frank Zickert, Frank Hemp, Arthur Imig and Henry Kroll. Flower ladies were Mrs. Alvin Jacob, Mrs. Paul Jacob, Mrs. Frank Zickert and Mrs. Arthur Imig.

Mr. Haack was born April 16, 1880, at Algoma, Wis. He attended school in Algoma, and also attended the University of Wisconsin, where he learned cheese making, and for a few years operated a cheese factory at Casco, Wis. In October 1907, he was married to Mathilda Radue at Luxemberg. They came to Neillsville in 1912 and purchased a farm in the town of Weston, where he lived until about 10 years ago. Then he gave up farming on account of failing health.

His first wife died Sept. 7, 1915. His second marriage was on April 2, 1924, to Elizabeth Neubecker of Neillsville. Her death occurred in June 1934. There are two sons of the first marriage, Norman of Wausau, and Theodore of Marshfield. One daughter, Ruth, who was a registered nurse, died in 1931 at the age of 22 years. There are three grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters: Ida, Mrs. Fred Pflughoeft of Neillsville, and Miss Mary Haack of Algoma, and five brothers: Henry of Waite Park, Minn., Ferdinand of Abbotsford, Louis of Algoma, and August and Leo of Anoka, Minn. Four sisters and four brothers are deceased.

Out of town folks who were here for the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Haack, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Haack, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Haack, Abbotsford; Leo and August Haack, Anoka, Minn.; Henry Haack, Waite Park, Minn.; Ernest Kammer, Miss Mary Haack, Louis Haack, Miss Minnie Kammer and Byron Pappe, Algoma; Herbert Radue, Two Rivers; Mrs. Frieda Schwerting, Green Bay; August Radue, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Radue and family, Chili.

Mr. Haack was a member of St. John’s Church. He had served as treasurer of his school district for a number of years. In recent years he has made his home in Marshfield and later at Arpin.
