Thomas A. Gaede, 26, of Neillsville died Monday, July 28, 2008, in Black River Falls.

Thomas Allen Gaede was born Feb. 14, 1982, in Black River Falls, the son of Paul Gaede Sr. and Ella Schreiber and Robert and Penny Poeschel of Neillsville. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 2001, at which time he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served from 2001-2007. He was stationed at Fort Hood, TX, and served two terms in Iraq.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Penny Poeschel of Neillsville, Paul Gaede Sr. of Neillsville and Ella Schreiber of Bruce; brothers, Paul (Lori) Gaede Jr. of Watertown, NY, Anthony (Mellisa) Gaede of Kailua, HI, John Gaede of Neillsville and Lance Poeschel of Neillsville; sisters, Angie (Mark) Fontecchio of Ashland, Peggie Gaede of La Crosse, Amy (Arturo) Bellomo of Mexico, Jen (Christ) Feyereisen and Connie (Kelly) Howes of Neillsville. He is also survived by his grandmother, Caroline Palms of Neillsville, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held for Thomas at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Steven Wentz will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service. Military honors will be accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Thomas’ family with arrangements.
