July 25, 1946 ---Schock, Joyce Beverly (Marriage - 20 July 1946) Miss Joyce Beverly Shock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Schock, Sr., Neillsville, became the bride of Edward John Frei, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Frei, Neillsville, Saturday, July 20, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The double ring ceremony was read by Fr. J. A. Biegler. Garden flowers were used to decorate the altar, and music was furnished by the organist, Mrs. Matt Gassen, Jr., and the choir. The bride wore a gown of white satin and net styled with at train. A coronet of orange blossoms held in place her three-quarter length, lace trimmed veil. She carried a bouquet of white gladioli and pink sweet peas. She was given in marriage by her father. Margaret Schuld, cousin of the groom, was the maid-of-honor. Ruby Purgett, Owen, cousin of the bride, and Viola Gall, Loyal, cousin of the groom, were bridesmaids. Alfred Schuld, Eugene Purgett and Harold Gall were the groom’s attendants. Georgianna Frei and Donald Pagenkopf were ringbearers and June Pagenkopf was flower girl. Gifts were given by the bride to her attendants. A wedding reception was given at the W. R. C. Hall for 50 guests. Garden flowers, wedding bells and blue, white and pink crepe paper were the decorations used. Mrs. Frei graduated from the Neillsville High School and is trained in beauty culture, being employed in a local beauty shop. Mr. Frei is a mechanic, employed in the city. They are now at home to their friends at 120 East 6th St. Neillsville. Guests present at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. William Gall and Mr. and Mrs. George Noeldner, Loyal; the Charles Purgett family, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bergstrom and George Lindy of Owen; Mrs. Fred Miller, Withee; Mrs. Harvey Bergstrom and family, Menomonie; the George Frei family, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Frei, Mr. and Mrs. George Pagenkopf, Mrs. Selma Schock and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hauser, all of Neillsville. |
