Surnames: Mead, Harms, Markim, Anderson --------- The Loyal Tribune 13 August 1942 --------- Mead, Shirley #4 (5 AUG 1942) A pretty wedding took place in the Spokeville Gospel Tabernacle Wednesday evening, Aug. 5, at 6 o’clock when Miss Shirley Mead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mead of Greenwood, became the bride of Max Harms, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Harms Sr. of Owen. The bride was becomingly attired in a cream and green silk jersey suit with a corsage of pink rosebuds. Her bridesmaid wore blue and a regal lily corsage. The groom and best man wore blue suits. The wedding march was played by Dorothy Markim of Owen, and “I Love You Truly” was sung by Mrs. Maurice Anderson of Marshfield. Miss Mead and Mr. Harmes exchanged vows in front of the pansy, nasturtium and fern decorated altar, surrounded by bouquets of garden and wild flowers, and in the presence of their immediate families and a few friends. After the wedding, a reception and dinner was held at the home of the bride in Greenwood, with the wedding party as guests. Mrs. Harmes is a graduate of the Greenwood high school, class of 1942. The groom in employed by the Carnation Milk Co at Owen, where they will be at home to their friends after a brief trip through northern Wisconsin. The Tribune joins their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes. |
