Miss Melba Tedlund, primary teacher for the past three years exchanged nuptial vows with Irving Seekins of Amery, Wis., at the Bethany Baptist church in Mason, Wis., Saturday, Sept. 12. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. R. Danielson, who was assisted by the Rev. James Austin, boyhood friend of the groom and from St. Paul Park, Minn.

Promptly at 8 o’clock, the ushers Orlin Johnson of Mason, cousin of the bride and Richard Brohmer, close friend of the groom, took part in a candle-lighting ceremony. Pre-nuptial music included a solo, “The Day of Golden Promise” (Hamblen), by Arnold Wicklund of Loyal, and a solo, “I Love Thee” (Edward Grieg) by Mrs. Henry Martinsen, sister of the bride.

The bride was very lovely in her ivory taffeta, fashioned with sweetheart neckline and tight-fitting bodice and edged in wide lace. Her long veil of silk illusion was bordered by Chantilly style lace and had a tucked turban cap trimmed with four white roses. The wedding ring bouquet was of Talisman roses.

Miss Betty Tedlund, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She was attired in a beautiful wild grape taffeta and carried a bouquet of roses. The little flower girl, Arlene Anderson, strewed flowers in the bridal aisle from a white basket of Shasta daisies. Ring bearer was Herbert Westlund, dressed in a navy blue sailor suit to match the groom’s and carrying a white satin pillow.

The groom, who at present is located at the U.S. Naval Aviation Base at Glenview, Ill., was dressed in full uniform of the navy and had Dwight Brohmer of Amery, a close friend, his best man.

Following the wedding, over 200 guests were present at a reception in the church parlors. White sailboat napkins on a navy blue sea made a picturesque reception room, which was also decorated with large bouquets of fall flowers.

The bridal couple left immediately for Amery, where a reception was held for them Sunday evening. Mr. Seekins reported for duty Tuesday morning at Glenview, where he is stationed as an instructor in navigation, trigonometry and meteorology.

Mr. and Mrs. Seekins will be at home to their friends at Techny Road, Northbrook, Ill., after Oct. 1.

Those attending the wedding from Loyal were Mr. and Mrs. Warner Berry, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lawrenz and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wicklund.
