The marriage of Miss Marjorie Dempsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Dempsey of Hillsdale, Wis., and Dale W. Short, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Short of Granton, was solemnized at an 11 o’clock service on Saturday morning, October 5, at the parsonage of the Methodist church in Barron, Wis. The Rev. A. R. Henry performed the double ring ceremony before a group of 26 guests.

The bride wore a street-length aqua wool dress, and had a corsage of white carnations. Her maid of honor was Miss Marion Mattison of Minneapolis. The groom was attended by his brother, Glenn Short of Granton. Miss Dorothy Vine, cousin of the groom, played “The Processional” by Lohngrin and “The Recessional” by Mendelssohn.

A reception for 33 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The couple took a wedding trip to southern Canada and Niagara Falls and is now at home to their friends on a farm on route 3, Granton.

The bride was graduated from the Barron High School and the River Falls State Teachers’ College, and for the past two years has taught at Merrillan. The groom attended Neillsville High School and is now engaged in fur farming.

Included among the guests were Miss Dorothy Vine and Miss Shirley Magnuson, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Short, Floyd Short and Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Gaier, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Magnuson and Miss Coletta Schmidt, Neillsville.
