The Rev. William A. Baumann read the marriage vows at the ceremony when Miss Rachel N. Eide, daughter of Mrs. Emma Eide, Chili (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Marcus T. Baumann, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Baumann of Neillsville. St. John’s Church, Neillsville, was the scene of the 7 p.m. double ring service on August 10, 1947. The Rev. William A. Lauterbach of Granton delivered the sermon.

Baskets of hydrangeas and vases of white gladioli were grouped around the altar, with palms and ferns completing the decorations of the church.

The bride chose a white gown constructed with satin bodice, a pet skirt and a lace ruffle around the shoulders. Her full length veil was seven yards long. She carried a white Bible, on which was an orchid surrounded by a shower arrangement of lilies of the valley and streamers of ribbon.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Arthur Laabs of Curtiss, sister of the bride. Her dress was of sheer yellow and she carried a bouquet of green carnations. The bridesmaids were Miss Grace Baumann, sister of the groom, Miss Ellen Eide of Granton, niece of the bride, and Miss Mary Ella Van Gorden of Black river Falls, a friend of the bride. All three wore light green dresses of taffeta with net skirts and carried yellow carnations. They all wore matching picture hats.

The groom’s attendant was Arlan Brandt of Hewitt, a friend, Elroy Brockopp, Fredrick Beversdorf and Donald Hoffman, all cousins of the groom, were ushers.

Miss Mary Pushek of Chili, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. The rings nestled in a large rose, which she bore on a yellow satin pillow. Her dress was of green taffeta with a net overskirt. The flower girl, Miss Barbara Krueger of Shawano, cousin of the groom, preceded the bride to the altar, strewing rose petals on her way. Barbara’s dress was of sheer yellow organdy and a satin underskirt and she wore a yellow net hat.
