The Pine Valley Lutheran Church was the scene Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6, 1947, of the marriage of Miss Evelyn Meihak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Meihak of route 3, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), and William Buchsteiner Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Buchsteiner, Sr., of Reedsburg. The Rev. Leonard Domke, pastor, read the double ring service before an assemblage of 200 guests.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white taffeta with a lace trimmed peplum and fashioned with a long train and long sleeves. Her flowers were an arrangement of pink and white gladioli and yellow mums.

Attending the bride were her two sisters, Miss Margaret, as maid of honor in yellow marquisette, and Miss Lorraine, as bridesmaid, in blue marquisette. Harold Rockwood, a friend of St. Paul, Minn., was best man, and Charles Marden served as usher.

Miss Elaine Wachholz sang “Oh Perfect Love”, accompanied at the organ by Paul Bartell, Sr.

The church was decorated with baskets of cut flowers and candles, while baskets of flowers and white, blue and yellow streamers were used to decorate the home of the bride’s parents, where a reception was held for 135 guests.

The bride was graduate from the Neillsville High School with the class of 1942, and since then has been employed at the A & P store here and in Reedsburg. The groom is a graduate of the Greenwood (Clark Co.) High School and a veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific.

The young couple left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and on their return will reside in Reedsburg, where the groom is employed by the International Harvester Co. After Sept. 16 they will be at home to their friends at 447 North Walnut Street in that city.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. William Buchsteiner, Reedsburg; Mr. and Mrs. James Asti, Milwaukee, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, Alvin Durst, uncle of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Durst and Mrs. Mary Elmer, great-uncle and great-aunts of the bride, all of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Layman and Mr. and Mrs. Kauhn, Reedsburg, friends of the groom
