Surnames: Frye, Anderson, Christopherson, Clark, Warner, Burke, Angwick, Craig, Johnson ---Source: The GREENWOOD GLEANER (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.) 30 Aug. 1901 ---Eidsvold (26 Aug. 1901) Fred Frye and wife of Worden visited her parents Saturday and Sunday. Gus Anderson has commenced the erection of a neat residence on his farm near here. The infant daughter of A. Christopherson and wife died Thursday and was buried in the Lutheran cemetery Saturday. Mrs. Kate Clark has purchased a house and two lots of S. S. Warner and a house and one lot of Burke, all situated on Scandinavian street, this village. An Indian man has purchased the eighty acre farm known as the Eng place, of M. M. Angwick, and a wild eighty joining the same of Lusk, Peterson Land Co. F. M. Craig has resigned his position as filer in the mill here to accept a similar position with the Northwestern Lumber Co. at Stanley. Leff Johnson of Stanley succeeds Mr. Craig as filer in the mill here. Rumor has it that an institution of doubtful character has been established in the town of Thorp, just outside the city limits of Stanley. An investigation and timely action on the part of the proper authorities might prevent a reoccurrence of the Odell-Cupps tragedy. |
