James B. Campbell, 75, of Humbird, R1, Township of Mentor, died at 5:20 a.m. May 20, (1948) at his farm home. He was born at Fairbanks, Iowa, August 15, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Campbell. He lived at Fairbanks until 1902 when he moved with his parents to Jackson County and lived at Merrillan. After his marriage in 1905, in Humbird, to Miss Ida Fitzmaurice, he and his wife located in the Township of Mentor and they lived in that community for thirty years.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Mildred, Mrs. Bernard Haza of Wisconsin Rapids; Vera, Mrs. Clarence Jinkerson of Merrillan; and Vernon of Humbird. Twelve grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 23, (1948) at 1:30 in the family home and at 2:00 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Humbird, with the Reverend N. J. Dechant officiating.

Pallbearers were Paul and Martin Zerbel, Clemm Trader, Fred Barr, Albert Van Kirk and Eugene O’Leary. The flower girls were Betty Fitzmaurice and Velva Fitzmaurice. Mrs. Walter Smith and Miss Donna Jean Ambrose sang, accompanied by Mrs. William Thieler.

From out-of-town came Mr. and Mrs. Barnard Haza and family Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jinkerson of Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Donbrock, St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cain, Fairbanks, Iowa; Mr. John Goeller, Fairbanks, Iowa; and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lanners, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Burial took place in the Township of Mentor Cemetery.
