G. G. Griffith, the Medford dentist, is in town, and has located himself at the Commercial Hose for the balance of this week and a part of next. He would be pleased to receive a call from all those wishing work in his line.

The young folks of the village will have a social hop, in Colby Hall, tomorrow night. Mohr’s String Band will furnish the music. Tickets 50 cents per couple. Refreshments will be served in the Hall. A cordial invitation is extended to the young people of the neighboring towns.

I. K. Cole unfortunately cut a three inch gash in his left shoe, Monday morning, while working at Mannville, with a foot adze. Of course it cut a bad gash in his foot that will lay him up several days, but then, it will heal and the cut in the shoe will not. This will be a severe loss of time, at least, to Mr. Cole. It is curious how careless some men can be of their clothing.

Spencer has had its share of fires, the Tribune related the particulars of a fire that occurred there last Wednesday morning which burned four buildings and destroyed over $1,600 worth of property. An extra, issued from the Tribune office, Saturday, gives the particulars of a fire that occurred that morning, burning four buildings and entailing a loss of over $5,000. It is believed that these fire are incendiary, if they are and the “bug” could be caught, a good stout rope and cross bar to a telegraph pole would be the best remedy.
