Surnames: Lubitt, Moberg ----Source: The Tribune-Phonograph (Abbotsford, Clark County, Wis.) Wednesday, July 9, 2008, Volume 48, Number 28, page 2 Driver Of Van Takes To Ditch To Save Youth Lloyd Moberg, 10, owes his life today to the quick action of Lyle Lubitt, St. Paul truck diver who ditched a large truck in front of the high school at 6 o’clock Monday evening to avoid striking the boy. Lloyd was riding a bicycle across highway 29 when Lubitt swerved the truck off the road to keep from running him down. The truck collided with an electric light pole, and the side of the truck struck a tree in the school yard. The wheels and axle were torn from the frame and wedged under the engine. Neither the driver nor the boy were injured seriously. New Fire Truck Makes First Appearance Here A fire truck which the Village recently purchased has arrived here and is being put in shape for service. The equipment, which includes about 1,000 feet of four-inch hose, and 200 feet of two-inch hose, is mounted on a Chevrolet chassis. The truck is equipped with a pump having a capacity of 500 gallons of water a minute. The chemical truck will be maintained for use in extinguishing small fires.
