Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Unger of Neillsville left Saturday to drive to Oshkosh to attend the wedding of their son, James, on August 1, (1948). Mr. and Mrs. Unger stopped for the night Saturday in Sheboygan with their son, Robert and his family, and the Robert Ungers then accompanied them to Oshkosh.

The wedding was solemnized at 2:00 p.m. in St. John’s English Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Edward R. Wicklund officiating. The bride, Miss Dorothy Kalbus, daughter of Mrs. Marie Kalbus of Oshkosh, wore a white tailored suit and white hat, and a shoulder corsage. Her matron of honor was a college friend, Mrs. Melvin Grancorbitz of Appleton. Donald A. Krider, of Madison, a college friend of the groom served as best man.

A reception was held for the immediate families and a few close friends immediately following the ceremony, at the home of the bride’s parents. After the reception the young couple left for a two week’s wedding trip in to Canada. After September 9 they will be at home in Holland, Mich., where the groom is professor of biology at Hope College.

The bride is a graduate of the Oshkosh State Teachers College, and has taught science in the Oshkosh High School. The groom, who was born and brought up in Neillsville, took his Bachelor of Science degree at Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point, and his Master of Science at Madison. He is a member of Sigma Xi fraternity.

Besides the groom’s parents and his brother and family, other out-of-town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Krider of Madison, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grancorbitz of Appleton.
