---Hagedorn, Lorraine Helen (Marriage – 14 August 1948)

Lorraine Helen Hagedorn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hagedorn, became the bride of Henry Robert Shaw, son of George Shaw, at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. William Baumann officiating.

Maid-of-honor was Miss Rosie Weiting, and the bridesmaids were Anola Tews, and Shirley Shaw. Edgar Sly served as bestman, and Louis Shaw, Jr., and Clarence Hagedorn as ushers. Franklin Meier was ring bearer and Dianne Hoffman was flower girl. One hundred guests attended the wedding and the reception which followed at the bride’s home.

The young couple will be at home at 220 ½ West 7th Street.

When Lorraine Helen Hagedorn became the bride of Henry Robert Shaw August 14, (1948), St. John’s Lutheran Church was decorated with gladiolas and snapdragons. Yellow, orchid and pale green satin ribbons decorated the pews.

Approximately 100 guests watched the bride enter the church, gowned in white ninon with satin appliqués and Queen Anne collar. Her fingertip veil of illusion fell from a beaded tiara. Her bouquet was formed in a frilled heart shape, centered in an orchid.

Her maid-of-honor, Rose Weiting, wore orchid organdy, and the two bridesmaids, Anola Tews and Shirley Shaw, wore dresses similarly styled, one in pale green and one in pale yellow. All three carried colonial bouquets.

The home of the bride’s parents where the reception took place after the ceremony was decorated for the occasion with white wedding bells and streamers. A tiered wedding cake centered the table.

Guests from out-of-town included: Mrs. Elizabeth Grap, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grap and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sether, an aunt and cousins of the bride, all from Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Grap of Milwaukee; Clarence Shaw, the groom’s brother, from Sun Prairie; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beckman and Mrs. Claude Larson and son, all of Milwaukee, uncle, aunt and cousin of the groom; and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lowe of Ripon.
