Curtiss - Riplinger

The usual Sunday sport for Curtiss was a closely contested ball game at Olson’s ball park before a bunch of fans, who came to see the battle of 3-4 in a ??? inning game between Curtiss and Riplinger, Curtiss took home the bacon.

The 9th inning the score stood 3-3. The plays of the last inning are as follows:

Riplinger at bat with every one on his toes, Clouse up flied to left field for a good single and tried to stretch it to a two base hit was thrown out at second.

Catlin up and hit the beautiful air.

Stacker up and hit a fly to Ostenson that nearly broke his back to get it but did and their side was out.

The Curtiss side can up for the final bat, Johnson singled and went to second on a pass ball, Fahrer up flied to short and was gloved. Kuehling up tried to hit one over to Midway and was hit by the pitcher getting to first.

B. Jakel up grounded to Blind which was fielders choice.

C. Jakel up grounded to short stop, Johnson on third with a big lead scored while the short threw it to second and putting out Bill Jakel who was forced off first and the game was over.
