Surnames: Grajek, Kaczmarek, Kwiatkowski, Pawlicki, Wellner, Pfeiffer, Kacher, Long ---Source: Thorp Courier (Thorp, Clark Co., WI.), September 3, 2008 ---Grajek, Anna (6 June 1911 – 29 August 2008) Anna Grajek, age 97, of Lublin, died at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, in Stanley, on Friday, August 29, 2008. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin with Fr. John Long officiating. Burial followed in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary service, and at the church, on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Anna Kwiatkowski was born on June 6, 1911 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Martin and Hedwig (Kaczmarek) Kwiatkowski. She moved to the Lublin area as a young girl and attended Clark School near Withee. Following her education she lived and worked in Chicago at a candy factory. Upon returning to the Lublin area, she met and married Anton Grajek on September 21, 1930 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. The couple raised their family and farmed in the Lublin area, retiring in the late 60’s. They continued to reside there, enjoying trips out west with their friends. Anna was a dedicated gardener and greatly enjoyed her flowers. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, where she served as secretary and treasurer for many years, and she also cooked for many weddings and funerals in the Lublin and Thorp area. Anna will be sadly missed by her children: Leonard Grajek of West Allis, Richard (Rosemarie) Grajek of Manitowoc, and Carol Pawlicki of Thorp; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anton on July 3, 1988; her three sisters: Rose Wellner, Joanne Pfeiffer and Sophie Kacher; her son-in-law, Ray Pawlicki on February 21, 2008; and grandson, Douglas Pawlicki on January 7, 1990.
