---Hillert, Ida (Marriage – 25 September 1948)

Marriage vows were spoken September 25, (1948), at 2:00 o’clock in Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton, between Miss Ida Hillert and Ewald Hinkelmann. The bride is from Evanston, Ill., and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Hillert of Granton. Mr. Hinkelmann, of Rockford, Ill., where the couple will make their future home, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hinkelmann of Loyal.

The Rev. Leonard A. Domke officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride’s white satin gown was fashioned with a long train, and she wore a full length veil. Her sister, Miss Lydia Hillert, served as maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Leona Hinkelmann, sister of the groom, and Miss Helene Hillert, cousin of the bride.

Edward Hinkelmann, the groom’s brother, was best man, and the groom’s other attendants were Raymond Zipfel of Neillsville, a cousin of the bride, and Walter Hinkelmann, another brother of the groom. Ring bearer was Donald Hillert and flower girl was Margaret Schlinsog.

Fifty-five guests attended a reception following the wedding, at the home of the bride’s parents, which was decorated with streamers and wedding bells.

The bride, who is a graduate of Granton High School, has been employed in a bakery in Evanston, Ill. The groom is an employee of the National Lock Company in Rockford, Ill.

Out-of-town guests at the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hinkelmann and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hinkelmann and Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Radue, Ernest Hinkelmann, Miss Clara Hinkelmann, all of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Arden Hinkelmann, Mrs. Emma Zipfel, of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. John Kurz of Spencer; Mrs. Lydia Albrecht, August Mueller, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stone of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mengel, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mayer, of Milwaukee; Mrs. Harold Huebner, Mrs. Edward Herold, Mrs. Lorraine and daughters, Mrs. Deforest Harshberger and Mrs. N. N. Schneider, all of Watertown.
