--Caron, Jeanette Rose (Marriage – 2 October 1948)

The marriage ceremony of Miss Jeanette Rose Caron of Detroit, Mich., to Paul John Duellman of Abbotsford, was solemnized at a nuptial mass Saturday, October 2, (1948) in St. Bernard’s Church at Abbotsford. Rev. Fr. Francis Brockman officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Caron of Detroit, entered the church on her father’s arm to the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin. She wore a gown of white slipper satin and Belgian lace and a long veil falling from a beaded headpiece of Spanish lace. Her colonial shower bouquet was of white gladiola, Joanna Hill roses and Baby’s Breath.

The bride’s sister, Mrs. Arthur Krause of Detroit, was matron-of-honor, and two cousins of the bride, Mrs. Edward Duellman of Harshaw and Miss Ruth Lantia of Lansing, Mich., served as bridesmaids. Edward Duellman of Harshaw, brother of the groom, was best man and Arthur Krause of Detroit and Richard Preller of Abbottsford, were the groom’s other attendants.

The wedding breakfast was served at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Duellman of Abbottsford, for 50 guests. The table was decorated with triple candelabra and mixed garden flowers. A dinner was later served in St. Mary’s gym in Colby, and a wedding dance was held in Walter’s Pavilion in Colby.

The young couple will be at home in Detroit October 18 after a wedding trip through upper Michigan and Wisconsin.

Those who attended the wedding from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. Edward LaCost, Mrs. Gerald Frickelton, Ronnie LaCost, all of Iron Mountain, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. William Lantia, of Ironwood, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. George Peterson of Escanaba, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Krause, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Caron and sons, Norbert and Eldric, and daughter, Myra, all of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beissel, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Duellman, all of Dorchester; James Caron of Watersmeet; Mr. and Mrs. A. Caron, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Duellman of Harshaw; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Billmann, Mrs. Loretta Geier, Mrs. Rose Brill and daughter, Mary Ann, all of Colby.
