Surnames: Bartell, Schlice, Petri, Kautz, Lauterbach ---Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark Co., WI.) 1948 ---Bartell, Hilde (Marriage – 19 December 1948) Miss Hilde Bartell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Bartell of Neillsville, became the bride Sunday, December 19, (1948) of Willard James Schlice of Stevens Point, son of James E. Schlice of Wisconsin Rapids. The candlelight ceremony was performed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville, with the Rev. William Lauterbach as officiating clergyman. Miss Arlene Petri of Minneapolis was maid of honor. Miss Petri, who is a cousin of the bride, wore a street-length dress of American Beauty red, with green accessories. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations. The bride, was given in marriage by her father, wore a street-length dress of magnolia white with gold bead trim. Her hat and shoes were of forest green, and she carried a colonial bouquet of white chrysanthemums centered in red roses. Joseph Kautz of Stevens Point served as best man, and Paul R. Bartell and Donald Bartell, brothers of the bride were ushers. Mrs. Joseph Kautz of Stevens Point sang two selections. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at St. John’s school assembly room, after which the young couple left on a wedding trip through Missouri and Oklahoma. They will make their home at 1220 Main Street, Stevens Point, where both Mr. and Mrs. Schlice teach in the Stevens Point High School. The bride is a graduate of Whitewater State Teachers College and a member of the Alpha Sigma sorority. The groom graduated from Stout Institute in Menomonie, and is a member of Phi Omega Beta fraternity |
