School: DAR for Clark. Co. Students (9 Jan 2002)
FOREVER PATRIOTIC The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is an nonpolitical, educational, service organization which was founded over a hundred years ago to promote the ideals of patriotism and love of our country. The EauClaire Chapter of the DAR comprised of women ages eighteen andolder who continue the age-old pledge of "God, Home and Country." One of their many commitments is the Good Citizens Award, given to high school seniors on an annual basis. The Eau Claire Chapter has won national recognition for giving more Good Citizen Awards that an other local chapter. Among the schools participating in the chapter's essay contest are Thorp, Stanley-Boyd, Cadott, Gilman, Owen-Withee, Greenwood, Lake Holcombe and Chippewa Falls. The Eau Claire DAR has a total of 37 area schools on its list.
