Thursday, 6 Nov. 2008 ----Heck, Anna Fae (23 Apr. 1920 – 5 Nov. 2008) NEILLSVILLE -- Anna Fae Heck, 88, of 611 W. Fifth St., Neillsville, died peacefully in her sleep at her home Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Timothy Biebert will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting the family with the arrangements. Anna was born April 23, 1920, at Ryegate, Mont., to Frederick Wesely and Mary (Boehm) Barr. She moved to Greenwood with her family when she was four years old. She graduated from Greenwood High School with the class of 1938. Anna worked for Lucille McConnell in Greenwood and then attended beauty school in Milwaukee. Anna Fae owned and operated a beauty shop in Greenwood for two years. She and Ervin Heck were united in marriage May 13, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. After marriage, she and Erv farmed in the town of Weston for 45 years. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1993. Anna Fae moved into Neillsville in 1985. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid; a 60-year member of Weston Homemakers Club. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, dining out and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Terry (Rita Hannon) Heck and Ben (Jan) Heck, all of Greenwood; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erv, on Oct. 8, 1999; four brothers, Tom, David, Freddie and Jake; and two sisters, Frances Marg and Edna Paulson. Specials thanks are extended to Lori Filla, Renee Filla, Linda and John Tomasek and Rita Hannon for their loving care in the past year.
