Dorothy R. Kaatz, 89, died Jan. 11, 2009, at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford.

Dorothy was born Nov. 6, 1919, in the town of Wein, Edgar, to the late Emil and Helena (Grosskreutz) Baesemann. She married Leonard Kaatz on Sept. 21, 1938, in Wausau.

She farmed in the town of Wein with her husband and moved to Wausau in 1960. She was a member of AARP, Chapter 272, Wausau.

Survivors include one son, Allan (RaeJean) Kaatz of Dorchester; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Elmira (Wilford) Hill, Elk Grove, Calif., Mildred Schoenrock, Abbotsford, Naomi Williams, Millington, Mich., Bernice (Allan) Hoyum, Wausau, and Grace (Floyd) Braund, Horicon.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Mr. Gaylen Van Loon and Mr. Perry Pearson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Helke Funeral and also from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park following the service.
