Mr. and Mrs. Otto Baumgart of Unity celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, April 23, at the Colby City Hall form 12 o’clock noon until 6:30 P.M.

Otto Baumgart and the former Anna Orth exchanged their vows on April 26, 1911, in Westport, in Dane county. Mr. Baumgart, who was a cheesemaker for 48 years, is now living on a farm near Unity. Their children are Harold of Unity, and Mrs. Otto (Marie) Sill of Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Baumgart have two grandchildren, Mary Ann and Marlene Baumgart.

Approximately 100 guests were seated at tables decorated in the traditional gold and white. The bride’s table was centered with a beautifully decorated wedding cake and yellow and gold floral arrangements. A 12 o’clock dinner was served, followed by a reception in the afternoon. A buffet supper was served at 4:30 P.M.

Relatives and friends from the following localities were present – Kansas City, Missouri, Oakland, California, Winstead and St. Paul, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Muskego, Waterford, Burlington, Wauwatosa, Lodi, Park Falls, Fifield, Catawba, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Adams, Wausau, Owen, Loyal, Abbotsford, Colby and Unity.
