Abbotsford Class Reunion Held Here

A reunion of the Abbotsford High School Class of 1939 was held Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Colby Hotel with Frank Nikolay acting as toastmaster. Dinner was served at 8:00 P.M. Tables were decorated in the class colors, coral and silver, and with the class flower, the Talisman Rose. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Paynter were honored guests. Mr. Paynter, now of Wausau, a former prinicipal at Abbotsford gave an interesting talk.

Prizes were awarded the following: Adeline (Kocian) Vaughn, coming the greatest distance; Dorothy (Mischefski) Sell, first reservation; Esther (Kvint) Krucker, married the longest; Ruth (Dolan) Bobbe and Alvin Korntved, having largest families; Esther (Kvint) Krucker and Irene (Voge) Frane, having oldest child; Clarence Nelson, having youngest child; Clarence Nelson, having first set of twins; Frank Nikolay, most recently married; Willard Wirth, single man; Alvin Korntved, having least amount of hair.

Letters were read from Fern (Meyer) Mason of Pennsylvania, Victor Holubetz of Indiana, Art Joliveth of Texas, Don Moberg of Michigan, Evelyn (Toelle) Colby of Abbotsford, Joyce (Johnson) Andrews of California, Lucille (Carlson) Dahlm of Wisconsin, Lorraine (Dallenbach) Schmidt of Illinois.

Fifty-two persons were in attendance. Class members attending with their wives or husbands were Dorothy (Mischefski) Sell of Neenah, Beulah (Hinke) Watkins of Lombard, Ill., Irene (Voge) Frane of Owen, Goldine (Fink) Kretschmer of Troy Center, Shirley (Green) Lovett, jr., of Cincinnati, Ohio, Vivian (Bush) Wilhelm of Chippewa Falls, Ray Kadonsky of Stevens Point, Lavern Kauffman of Marshfield, Esther (Kvint) Krucker of West Allis, Verla (Miller) Bluedorn of Milwaukee, Willard Wirth of Cleveland, Wis., Kathleen (Hart) Hutchins of Wausau, Alvin Korntved of Escanaba, Mich., Ethel (Kauffmann) Van Sleet of Milwaukee, Adeline (Kocian) Vaughn of Vernal, Utah, William Bunkelman of Stetsonville, Lorraine (Marten) Kobs of Curtiss, Clarence Hoeft of Appleton, Robert Bogaard of Abbotsford, Maurice Thompson of Tomahawk, Lorraine (Keller) *** Note: The rest of the article was cut off and was not available at the time of transcription.
