Alexander, 97, Colby, formerly of Loyal and Owen, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the Colonial Center, Colby. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, from 10 a.m., until time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate. Her great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Inurnment will take place in Colby Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Evelyn R. Edblom was born on March 1, 1912, on the home farm in Unity, to Arthur and Alvina A. (Nee Johnson) Edblom. She was raised and received her education at the Sunshine Country School, rural Unity. She married Cecil Alexander on Nov. 23, 1932, in Greenwood. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Green Grove Township until 1977. Her husband, Cecil, died on Dec. 12, 1987. She continued to live on the farm until 1996, at which time she moved to the hometown Village Apartments, Loyal. She resided there until entering the Colonial Center, Colby, in October 2005. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Unity, and a former member of the Clark County Homemakers. She had many interests, including spending time with her family, reading, playing cards, cooking, baking, sewing, dancing, gardening, flowers, and listening to country music, especially Billy Ray Cyrus. She will be dearly missed by one daughter, Janice E. (Allan) Niemi, Loyal; four grandchildren, Julie (Charles) Loos, Loyal, Jeffrey (Maureen) Lindekugel, Spencer, Darrel (Heidi) Klessig, Menomonie, and Darla (Paul) Jagoditch, Tucson, Ariz.; 11 great-grandchildren, Tara (Christopher) Scheel, Loyal, Trisha (Jeffrey) Palmer, Spencer, Jared Loos (Kim Artac), Loyal, Travis (Kari) Lindekugel, Marshfield, Jason Lindekugel, Marshfield, Guy Lindekugel, Shorewood, Lacie (Robert) Pohl, Marshfield, Natalya Klessig, Menomonie, David Jagoditch, Tuscan, Ariz., and Mark Jagoditch, Tucson, ARiz.; seven great-great-grandchildren, Shawna Lilienthal, Tyne Scheel, Cesyn Scheel, Tryn Scheel, Devyn Palmer, Kenidi Palmer and Christopher Pohl; three sisters, Ethel Felker, Oshkosh, Eleanor Mellenthin, Spencer, and Gail (Amos) Mainard, Mesa, Ariz.; Three brothers, Arlyn (Zona) Edblom, Colby, Alvin Edblom, Medford, and Alfred Edblom, Unity; one son-in-law, Ely Klessig, Colby; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Cecil; one daughter, Jean L. Klessig; her stepmother, Frieda Meyer; two sisters, Esther Egnoski and Eileen Safemaster; two brothers, Arnold Edblom and Arthur Edblom Jr.; and one son-in-law, Dale Lindekugel Online condolences may be expressed at www.cuddiefh.com.
