Hofmann, Marianne (Marriage – 21 Oct. 1950)

Mr. and Mrs. John Hofmann, Riverside, announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Marianne, to Mr. Richard Jerabek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Jerabek, Oakfield, formerly of Abbotsford. The ceremony will take place Saturday, Oct. 21, at 9:00 o’clock at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

Both young people are employed at Milwaukee.

Miss Marianne B. Hofmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hofmann, Route 1, Colby, became the bride of Richard Jerabek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Jerabek, of Oakfield, Saturday morning, Oct. 21, at 9:30 o’clock, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. They repeated their vows in a double ring ceremony read by the Rev. Raymond Schulz, who also read the nuptial mass during which hymns were sung by St. Bernard’s choir.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore an exquisite gown of lace with long sleeves and a long satin train. Her finger tip veil of illusion, edged in lace, was held by a seed pearl tiara. A necklace of pearls and gold and matching earrings, the gift of the groom, and a bouquet of red roses with showers of white baby mums, completed the bride’s ensemble.

Her three attendants wore formals made alike, of heavy satin, small, black hats with matching trim, long, black mitts and a wrist corsage of red roses and mixed baby mums. Each attendant wore a pearl necklace, the gift of the bride.

Miss Joyce Hofmann, Route 1, Colby, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, wore deep aqua; Mrs. Delores Priebe, Algoma, and Mrs. William Jerabek, of Kewaunee, both sisters of the groom, wore lime green and orchid, respectively.

Douglas Jerabek, Oakfield, was his brother’s best man. Robert Scidmore, Milwaukee, uncle of the bride, and William Jerabek, of Kewaunee, brother-in-law of the groom, were groomsmen. Irving Jerabek, West Allis, and Arnold Jerabek, Oakfield, both brothers of the groom, were ushers.

The mother of the bride wore a black crepe dress to which was pinned a corsage of pink and white carnations and baby mums. A similar corsage was worn by the mother of the groom, who chose a printed crepe dress for the occasion.

Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party at the home of the groom’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Leichtnam. Dinner and supper were served at the armory club rooms for about 100 guests and the reception in the afternoon and evening was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

Guests from away came from Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Oakfield, West Allis, Kewaunee, Kewaskum, Algoma, Dorchester, Colby and Abbotsford.
