Tribune (Abbotsford, Clark County, Wis.) 09/04/1952 The senior class of 1927
of the Abbotsford high school held a silver anniversary reunion in the armory
club rooms, Saturday evening, Aug. 30. Following an invocation
by Herbert Juneau, a banquet prepared by women of the Presbyterian church was
served. A program, consisting of
roll call, by Mrs. Arthur Thompson, grade school teacher of the group;
introductions and remarks by special guests of the class, who were Mr. and Mrs.
Juneau, Mrs. Arthur Thompson and Walter Jackson, were given. Several awards were
given: Mrs. Gladys Arndt Feeney, Austin, Minn., who came the greatest distance;
Mrs. Lloyd Burhans (Ethel Parison) mother of six children; the largest family.
Grandmothers Burhans and Peterson (Edna Adams) were tied as each had three grand
children. At a business meeting it
was unanimously agreed to meet again in five years. Mrs. Leland Smiley was
elected chairman for that meeting. Finances were taken care of by the group and
the ladies who prepared the meal were thanked. A rising vote of thanks was given
Mrs. Roy Peterson, who acted as chairman of this year’s reunion, which was
attended by 14 of the class of 25 members. The tables were decorated
in the class colors, lavender and white. A two tier cake, decorated with lily of
the valley, the class flower, and bearing the numerals 1927-1952, and the class
motto, “Grin and Grind,” written in lavender, formed the centerpiece. Class members and their
