--------- Afrank, Herman, Mr./Mrs. (50th – 14 APR 1953)
Sunday, April 12th Mr. and Mrs. Herman Afrank held open house at their home in McCleary, Wash. To celebrate the happy occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary which fell on April 14, 1953.
Among those present were their eight children, (Hannah) Mrs. Glen Palmer, Alma, (Grace) Mrs. Forrest Palmer, Henry, (Effie) Mrs. Carl Anderson, Wayne, (Luella) Mrs. Frank Spain, (Jeanne) Mrs. George Hannaford. There are 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. John Brass of Greely, Colo., Mrs. Brass is Mr. Afrank’s sister and was bridesmaid for the honored couple 50 years ago. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Meyer and son of Salem, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer and family of Portland, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Afrank of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Lizzie Rudink and daughter of Portland, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Christensen of Sams Valley Oregon and a host of friends from the surrounding communities.
The centerpiece consisted of a two tiered wedding cake, baked and beautifully decorated for the occasion by their daughter Alma Afrank of Detroit, Mich. Coffee, cake and cookies were served throughout the afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Afrank were the recipients of many beautiful cards, flowers, gifts and good wishes. |
