BioM: McMonagle, Emma (Marriage – 1920)
Surnames: MCMONAGLE HUBBARD ---------Source: COLBY PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 02/12/1920 --------- McMonagle, Emma (Marriage – 11 FEB 1920) Miss Emma McMonagle of Colby, Wis., and Mr. Kenneth J. Hubbard of Plainfield, Wis., were quietly married at the Catholic Parsonage in this city on Wednesday morning Feb. 11th., at 9:30, in the presence of relatives of both parties, Rev. H. Lachnit performing the ceremony. They were attended by Miss Francis McMonagle, sister of the bride, and the groom’s brother, Mr. Ervin Hubbard of Edgar. The bride wore a blue traveling suit with hat to match and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and sweet pears. The bridesmaid was also tastily gowned in a blue suit. After the ceremony a sumptuous wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s mother. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary McMonagle of this city, and for the past six years has been the bookkeeper for the Clark County Telephone Co. in their Colby office. She is a graduate of the Colby High School and is a very agreeable and charming young lady and has a host of friends who will wish herself and husband a long and happy wedded life. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hubbard of Plainfield. He has been here for the past four months assisting in the work of building the electric line from this place to Edgar. He is a steady and energetic young man of good appearance and is to be congratulated for his judgement in choosing one of Colby’s finest daughters for his mate. The couple left for Plainfield Wednesday afternoon in company with the groom’s parents, who were here to attend the wedding. After returning from a honeymoon trip to different places in the southern part of the state the young couple will make their home in this city after March the first. |
