Southworth found on his rain barrel Monday morning after the first big rain, a large quantity of bugs, different from anything ever seen in this vicinity, being similar to the potato bugs only more pointed, with a hooked bill, and having ahard white shell. A heavy scum of sulfur also covered the barrel. A jury was elected in inquire into the cause of the death of Thomas Usher, a wretched wreck of humanity whose only vocation for weeks has been to imbibe strong drinks procured by every devise practiced by that class of drunkards destitute of every manly virtue, and sink lower than the brute, and whose only desire is to quench the damning thirst caused by drinking alcohol. The verdict will undoubtedly be: “died of drunkenness:. A sad commentary on the death of a human being.
