Allen Arnold was called down to Chippewa Falls the first of last week to superintend one of the bridges at that place.

Miss Ida Far came up from Augusta last Saturday.

E. Black, of Weston, who has resided there for the past fifteen years, has sold his farm and removed to Jefferson county. We regret to see Mr. Black leave the county.

On last Saturday night there was quite a gathering at Fireman’s Hall to skate and witness the expert skating and bicycle riding of Prof. E. S. Briggs. Many who saw him claim that he did some good skating, and that he was perfectly at home on the bicycle.

GREENWOOD: Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weston pleasantly entertained their friends in splendid style recently as they know how to.

During the past week Mrs. Marshall, Miss Mason, Messrs. H. Palmer, Myer, Campbell and Gale, of Neillsville, visited Greenwood.

HUMBIRD HUMMINGS: B. Webster, C. B. Travis, W. McClaflin and their wives have gone to Madison to attend the state fair.

E. S. Clark is enjoying a visit from his sister, Mrs. Wm. A. Sears, of Ossawatona, Kan., whom he had not seen for over twenty-eight years.

H. E. Howes is buying stock. He expects to have a corner on beef in a few years.

Charlie Crowbar is chief clerk, landlord and general business manager at the hotel this week during the absence of Mr. Webster.

Arthur Walworth has returned from his summer quarters in Neb.

Miss May Spooner has been visiting her sister Mrs. C. B. Travis. She accompanied them to Madison.

Dr. H. B. Cole was in town Saturday to see Len Hartman who is very sick with typhoid fever
