Source: The Clark Republican and Press Date: 11-29-1885 Mrs. F. D. Lindsay started for St. Paul last Tuesday, to continue the medical treatment which has been of such great benefit to her this fall. Ed. Crossett and Jas. Brown, who have been doing some artistic work in the line of painting at Merrill, this fall, have returned to Neillsville. Peter Trudell an old soldier and pioneer on Black River, died at Black River Falls, last Tuesday, of cancer in the mouth. A large number of the G. a. R. of this city went down to attend the funeral today. Mr. Richard Vaughan accompanied by Mr. Bartell, both of Baugor, near La Crosse, have been hunting the nimble deer in Clark County, for a couple of weeks. They spent a day in this city with Mr. Vaughan’s brother. Mrs. Jas. Reddan accompanied Miss Olive Chapman to La Crosse, last week, to consult with White Beaver in regard to Miss Chapman’s case. He decides she has consumption of the throat and inflammatory rheumatism, and that her condition is critical. She remains in La Crosse for treatment. Mrs. Reddan returned Tuesday. Three young men, named Leroy and Russell, went to the house of one Peter Marx, and found only a little boy at home. They threatened to shoot him id he did not give them something to eat, and the boy nearly frightened to death gave them some bread. They went into the house and skimmed the cream off some milk, raised the devil generally, and on leaving shot Marx’s dog. For all which pleasantry them were arrested on Tuesday. |
